Making some cheat sheets for Hack the Planet, after a disastrous online session which was mainly me discovering the official 'reference sheets' don't have tons of the core rules on them. They do have a random fashion generator table, though. Always more important to have that than to tell you how one PC assisting another works...

okay
1/2400 is possible, but f**k its painful and unpleasant.
maybe for battleships, but not for the sorts of ships PC's might tool around in, and certainly not for anything that'd be put on a table for a firefight

Here is what I've cobbled together in 1/2400 scale and that's without the engine section/radiators/fuel_tanks.
the ball tanks and the cargo containers are skewered on a toothpick to stay in alignment... those parts have a 2mm hole for that, and that's too big for the other parts mostly.
You can barely make out the turrets, so at least I know I could do a Battle of Jutland set, this was just too fiddly to be enjoyable.
Maybe a ship that's more monolithic, but something like this is just bleh. My patience eyes aren't good enough for this sort of work anymore.

that's an x-acto no. 11 and the d6 is 15mm on a side.

Thank you for trying, anyway. The issue probably boils down to the big ship/small ship universe dichotomy: PC-scale ships and 500,000-dton warships don't belong on the same map.

I finished a completed 1/2400 model. It is done. I'm still working on a 1/300 model, but it is taking a long time to print the parts.
14 separate pieces, but I think I've learned a trick or two that should help me do tiny ships in the future.
The radiators are cut from a paracetamol box.
a 1/2400 USS Texas BB-35 actually seems doable now.

1/300 model so far
fun, but maybe no practical use... oh well.

Began replaying the Mass Effect trilogy once again, this time with an overdose of graphic mods (the ALOT/ALOV mods and others). Looks so pretty with these mods, and brings back wondrous memories!

Also, writing RPG stuff...
