Greetings peoples,

Brought here by the link from the website of the illustrious EDG, who I used to talk to over on the Celestia Forum ...

Currently I'm working on projects related to the Basic Roleplaying System (the first and current one being a bestiary of extant and prehistoric beasties) with a colleague in the US (forget 'Play By Mail', this is 'Write Supplements By Mail')... related conversations with my co-writer identified a distinct lack of SFRPG support for the BRP system, so coming here seemed natural, given that our next project may be an Alien creation system and bestiary, which must, for completeness, contain a decent solar system generation process and Stellar Atlas, using Hipparcos data as a basis... The Stellar Data we've already got, mapped via framed screenshots from CHView in a 2300 AD style but by 'Sector'; it's that pesky Solar System Generation system that's the next major step...

But I digress...

Err...Hello all, glad to be here! :)

More BRPers... excellent!

In that case you may be quite interested in what we're working on at present, and some of the stuff we have planned... all a tad hush-hush at the moment, but certainly making good progress...

More news on that when the stars is right!! :D

Welcome aboard, Cormoran. I think you'll find this group, though of modest size, to be generously larded with colleagues, rivals, fellow-travelers, and kindred souls in the business of generating universes.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys :) It's very much appreciated...

And in groups of this nature, it's the quality of the posters, not the quantity

Have been playing RPG's since 1977 (white box D&D), had boxed set of Traveller for my birthday in 1978. Have played CT/MT and lately MGT for some time, also experimented with Space Opera back in the 80's and Star Siege in the 00's (not bad, has some interesting ideas). When my son Ben and his friends got interested in RPG's some years back, I ran some Games of MGT, Starblazer Adventures and tinkered with Diaspora.

Currently am running Stars Without Number both as a main Game with the Monday Gamers and as a solo Game using a variety of solo engines (Mythic GME, Rory's Story Cubes, 9Q's and some home-grown stuff).

The Bright Star sector has undergone a rework over the last couple of weeks and the Games will restart.
