A while ago, probably years, I came across the website of a firm that had made (on commission) several three-dimensional star-maps consisting of tiny lights suspended in a volume between one metre and a couple of metres in diameter, with up to a few thousand stars plotted in them. These were things that you could walk around, apparently they were very impressive, and I think a few planetariums and museums had made exhibits of them. I might well have heard about them or mentioned them right here in SFRPG-Discussion.

Now I can't remember what they were called, and don't seem to be able to world a Google search that will find them for me. Can anyone help a poor old bear with cotton batting for brains?

Oh dear. It emerges that I asked the same question here some years ago.

The displays in question are called "stellariums". The website is http://www.sonic.net/~jeffcarl/index.html
