Been listening to Mitch Benn & the Distractions. Two versions of "Proud of the BBC" on one album - woohoo!

Various Sabaton songs. Perfect wargamer-geek music...

Someone gave me a copy of David Cook's CD (his first from right after he won American Idol).

I REALLY like it. I haven't heard his second CD (didn't sell nearly as well...) but his first is REALLY good.

"Unpermanent" is a song about when his brother was dying of brain cancer. Makes me tear up every time...

The last big thing I got into was Within Temptation. I suppose you'd call them epic 'symphonic metal' with a very nice leading lady who has an awesome voice :). (their later albums are much more accessible, the first few are a bit too overwrought for my tastes).

And yes, you can now embed youtube videos here - just use the youtube tag and paste the URL in there!

I'm gearing up for next week's convention, where I'll be running a couple of my Traveller/Space Patrol-1969 games. When people ask me what those games are like, I tell them the following:

Go to YouTube and look up the trailer to the movie 'The Green Slime'
Then in a seperate window, look up the song 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' by Status Quo
Then turn the sound off on the trailer, and listen to the song as you watch it instead.

That explains things better than I ever could.

Or, for another take, there's always Josie Cotton's cover of the theme song to The Green Slime.

Jessica Curry's soundtrack to "Everybody's Gone To The Rapture". This is absolutely beautiful.

For example:
