My next setting, Samar, will again be a desert world colony (the players wan-
ted that, really ...
), and since I did not want to repeat more elements
of previous settings than unavoidable, I was looking for a new way to design
the buildings of the first settlement on the planet.
One of the ideas is a habitat building made from most parts of 10 pressurized
advanced bases or habitat modules as they are described in Mongoose Travel-
ler's Central Supply Catalogue.
I assembled the modules around two inner courts, connected them and added
an airlock. The courts have transparent roofs and are planted with some gree-
nery, both for the "feeling" and to add a little oxygen to the life support system.
In the basic configuration (see below) the building contains 58 small one per-
son "cells", but rooms can easily be combined to create more space for offices,
lounges, laboratories or whatever.
