A fellow called JohnWFox over on the MGT forum did a cool thing - made a list of every official ship in pretty much all the MGT publications. He posted it up and a flurry of activity started, all trying to rebuild the list in a more readable way (it was one huge block of text listing nearly 250 ships!)

I jumped in and formatted it for forum viewing and then one BFalcon asked for a .csv file so he could build a database. I started doing that, posting my ridiculously labor-intensive method.

That's when EDG jumped in with a PM thru this forum. With step-by-step instructions to create what I wanted. With an unbelievably time-saving way of doing it.

Thanks, EDG!

The list shows the name, building race, tonnage and book it's in with page number. I saved so much time I added a column and the engine specs (J2,2G; J0,6G and so forth) for all the books I have, about half the ships I think.

So here it is in case any one is interested. I've posted the .xls file as I assume many won't want or need the .csv and you can save it in Excel as a .csv quite easily.

Kudos to JohnWFox for doing the initial slogging grunt work. The thread over at the Mongoose forums is here:
http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/forum.php
and it is called 'ShipList for Traveller Books'

Cheers!

yer welcome. I had to help, it was physically causing me pain to look at the way you were doing it on the MGT board ;)
