At least, so it seems - a very thorough article about how Nuclear Fusion works, and why it's currently so hard to make a working reactor.

That is a great blog. Really refreshing to read.

I printed out the post on fusion. I found myself re-writing the numbers in the margins in exponential notation so I could appreciate the differences.

Really, solar is a no brainer. Why is it that no one has any brains?

Our skulls have to fit through our mothers' birth channels and
therefore cannot get big enough for really good brains ? :?

Solar will be a no-brainer when we get cheap, durable, efficient batteries with which to store energy from when solar supplies it to when we need it: night, cloudy weather, winter.

Even then we will probably still need chemical fuels for aircraft, though there's no reason they can't be agricultural products.

And ROCKET FUEL!

Interesting blog, there is also a pdf of a fusion reactor by a scientist from livermore floating around. Also what he said about Deuterium was also confirmed by a conversation I had with a couple of propulsion engineers/scientists from Armstrong Hall.

IMTU, fusion is accomplished by grav plates compressing the atoms into a state of fusion, where then energy is collected by panels similar to photo-voltaic cells; heat, radiant, everything.
