Not sure how many of you follow JMS, but he announced on FB a few weeks ago that he has signed a deal to reboot Babylon 5 for the CW network.

This will NOT be a straight up reboot, as he has many years of experience now and will be doing things a bit differently.

Also, if you remember, the actor playing the first Commander (Jeff Sinclair) left after one season, which changed a LOT of the story. PERHAPS we will get something closer to JMS' original vision of the show...???

Anyone else here love B5?

Yes! The first four seasons at least... but I can't really imagine any kind of reboot. :/

It's been a long time, though I seem to remember liking a few S5 episodes. I'm always open to reboots (less keen on live-action adaptions of anime) - the proof will be in the pudding.

JMS has stated it will not be the same exact story; but a better story.

He originally had a 2-3 page summary that involved Sinclair's son David in the future (That is where B4 traveled not to the past as seen on TV). Maybe he can tell that original story (or something closer to it).

When the actor playing Sinclair had to leave, he had to go to Plan B (Sheridan's storyline). Also being told only 4 seasons, then at the last minute adding a 5th season really messed with the overall story.

Other actors leaving (the telepaths) also changed the story...

I wonder if that sort of long-arc story would be easier to tell now with shorter run seasons. Seems to give actors more flexibility to pop around and show up in different series.

If it's on the CW, does that mean the characters will all be 20-somethings who look like underwear models?
