I'm not entirely sure whether this is 'scifi' but it's inspired by it and it does have some scifi elements so I'm putting it here.

"Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" is a new "game" for the Playstation4. I say "game" because it's not really a "game", it's more of an interactive storytelling experience. You're walking around a sleepy English village in the 1980s, where something apocalyptic has happened. Everyone's disappeared, and all that's left are these 'light echoes' that you can walk up to and use to play back conversations between the characters who once lived there. As you walk around you piece together who these people were, and how they all relate to eachother, and what's happening to them. And while it's called "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" it's not necessarily religious in nature - something almost spiritual has happened, but it's got a scientific origin as the Observatory near the village is the epicentre for all the events (the story itself was inspired by 1960s/1970s british scifi by the likes of John Wyndham).

And it's fantastic. It's absolutely amazing. It's beautifully rendered, the soundtrack is incredibly moving (you can get it on itunes, it's by Jessica Curry who also did the soundtrack to the studio's earlier "Dear Esther"), and you really end up feeling for the human characters caught up in what appears to be the end of the world.

If you have a PS4, get this and play it through - I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you don't, you can watch Kim from the Yogscast play through it - she does a fantastic job of it and treats the material with a lot of respect.
