Sometimes being able to create a name or expression in an OTU or other language is a useful thing.
Here are a selection of OTU and other language generators I have found on the web:
Rob Day's Language generator:http://visionforgestudios.com/jesse/traveller/reference/index.htm
handles Vilani, Vargr and Zhodani
Jason Borneman's Random name generatorhttp://www.xtra-rant.com/gennames/
this generator draws on the 1990 US census so you will probably get a mix of Anglo/European and Hispanic names
Space Corsair Word Generatorhttp://www.spacecorsair.com/wordgen.html
my favourite word/language generator - handles Aslan, Vargr, Droyne, Darrian, Sword Worlder, Vilani, Zhodani, K'kree, Ael Yael, Bwap, Gurvin, and Ithklur. I tend to run 20 - 30 words of various syllable length at a time, save them into a word document, and then I have a little grab bag of proper names and "other" words I can draw on in a hurry.
Tribblescape Vilani name translatorhttp://tribble.dreamhost.com/vilani.php
This little app allows you to type in a name in English/German (I guess it handles German, want to give it a try, Rust?) and it converts it into a Vilani equivalent using Robert Eaglestone's conversion methods - Robert appears, from comments on COTI, to have done a lot of work on Vilani).
Wordlab Random word/name generatorhttp://www.wordlab.com/tools/t_index.cfm
There are four little tools on this page that generate names that sound like: Rock Bands, commercial drugs, companies of some sort, etc. Lots of fun and sometimes useful - you can't beat 'The Toxic Fog' as the name of a band, can you?
