You could quite easily convert 2M6 into almost every genre as its is very rules-light; however, this is still Traveller in spirit, so even 2M6 fantasy would be far more lethal than D&D (which could be tweaked, but that would ruin some of the systems advantages such as fast combat).

I'm not to sure if I agree with this... In several of our play tests it took 5 combat turns to take down a guard. We are still tweaking with things to get it to the right level of lethality to make it good for a fast play Board Game.

I'd love to hear more about these playtests... These would help me improve the rules.

I'll gather my notes and try and get Mikes as well.

If I may ask, what has slowed the combat down - the probability to hit, the amount of weapon damage or the amount of damage absorbed by the armour?

One possibility for speeding things up is to remove the END statistic, which will reduce the amount of "hit points" each character has.

At the moment I believe it was the dice rolls. I'm running another round of playtesting next week.

I'll post the outcome of that here.

If you've done more playtests so far, I'll be very grateful to hear about their results; these would allow me to perfect this system.

No, we have decided to go with a different system.

Mike was uncomfortable going with any that is remotely tied to WotC. The legal guy at the radio station said that wizards could kill OGL by simple recalling the OGL license. This would not effect any current OGL product out there, but would prevent anything else from being published under that contract.

What's already released as OGL will always be OGL. If they ever do cancel it in the future, someone else will just release a new one - WotC don't have the monopoly on open source gaming.
