I keep forgetting this isn't purely a Traveller forum! :)

Here's a Hydran from Starfleet Battles and Prime Directive, the not-Star-Trek RPG/Starship combat game.
It's a 'crackhead' design much like Arex from the cartoon but I have a soft spot for wierd aliens and the feasability of his existence has already been discussed at length on my FB page by mssrs Drye and Ganymede :)

Aaaaanyway....

Modelled partly in Maya but mmainly in ZBrush and composited in Photoshop.

Enjoy,

Crow

(thinks... I really must dig out that K'Kree I was working on...)

It's already being discussed (although not officially) on the Starfleet battles forum :D
That would be sweet and I've been meaning to get something printed in 3D for aaaaages. This mesh wouldn't be any good, but it'd be easy make one that was.

These days I don't think it's even mostly a Travelelr forum. Nice tentacles there, you had me thinking someone had been at the brush and enamel* for a second there. I know a landscape architecture faculty in a South African university with a 3D printer. I'd love to know how they justified that on the expense form ... :?

*Don't get on with that new-fangled acrylic stuff.

That is amazing, I thought it was a mini to start with.
Excellent work as ever. :D

Love the artwork, but I have to ask...

Why does a Hydran have Trilateral symmetry in its body, but bilateral symmetry in its face?

Shouldn't it have 3 eyes and 3 mouths spaced around its body like the tenticle/arms and legs?

I refer the honourable sir to the 'crack head' part of my earlier statement. :D
