A New play by post Traveller Campaign, The Omega Operatives, seeks 3 to 6 players.

The game is set in the Imperial Year 1100, in an Alternate Traveller Universe which is based closely on the Official Traveller Universe but with notable changes that will make themselves apparent as the game progresses and thru referee supplied background data. For the Curious, the Launch Point is the Tyrolia System in the Spica Subsector, in the Spica Sector.

The Character's Roles:
The player characters are a specialized team of experts from diverse backgrounds that are sent to many locations in Known Space to complete specific missions assigned to them by a mysterious employer, known only as "Control" Control provides mission data, along with any specialized gear needed to complete the missions, including the Player character's Starship which serves as a mobile base of operations for the team.

Character Generation
1. Players may choose any background/career path for characters
2. Maximum number of 6 terms.
3. A character can "split class" but only once
4. A character can be of any Major or Minor Race, except for K'Kree (Centaurs)

The Omega Operatives campaign is going to focus on Action and Science Fiction Adventure, so it is suggested to keep that in mind when making characters. Spacer-type skills, Intelligence-type Skills, and Combat skills can be a good foundation for a successful Operative.

RULES
All interested Players have the choice of two rulesets. Majority vote selects which ruleset will be used for the game.

Option 1: Classic Traveller. All characters are generated from Book 1 of Classic Traveller or Supplement 4: Citizens of the Imperium, no "Expanded Generation" methods, like in Mercenary or High Guard will be used.

Option 2: Mongoose Traveller. Mongoose Traveller and its expanded methods of generation, in addition to careers from all books would be used.

Any questions about this campaign should be directed to this OOC thread, which will be used for character generation or any other out of game discussion.

On entering the Thread, please state your first name and vote for which ruleset. This will signify that you are interested in playing.

Hope to see you there!

-KoT

I would opt in but I don't know if I'm any good for PbPs any more--they either fizzle out or I lose interest! :o

But if there's a specific type of character/career that you'd like to direct me towards, I'm sure I could come up with something (but I may have an idea for a clergywoman...).

I'm interested as well, and more interested in playing Mongoose rules.

I'm Bob & I'm interested, but I only have the Classic Traveller rules. I don't know anything about the Spica Sector, but I'm up for creating a Vargr agent of some sort. (I have the Vargr Alien Book, the LBB#1, or the Spinward Marches Campaign book has the Supplement 4 Char-gen charts in there...)

How much difference is there between Mongoose & Classic LBB? Can a Classic character be converted easily?

Please pick a homeworld from Anywhere on the thetravellermap.com. It must be a place and not just generic UWP.

IE, You should have a defined planetary or systemic identity, A Reginan, A Tyrolian, etc.

Are we choosing as a group or as individuals?
